Providence’s Gerard Colmean to transfer; maybe more to follow
On Mar. 28, CBSSports.com Senior Basketball Writer, Jeff Goodman reported that Providence sophomore guard Gerard Coleman would likely transfer.
Providence guard Gerard Coleman likely to transfer, source told CBSSports. Friars will definitely lose Bilal Dixon and Ron Giplaye.

This past week that has been confirmed as Coleman has informed head coach Ed Cooley of his intentions to leave PC after two seasons due to personal reasons.
Coleman averaged 13.2 points per game, which was fourth on the team in 2011-2012. It is believed that the 6-foot-4 second-year was unhappy with his role on the team late in the season.
Goodman also expected sophomore forward Ron Giplaye and junior forward Bilal Dixon would also be transferring. No confirmation on either of these players, but for months both have been rumored to be transferring to Towson.
Dixon is graduating this season (redshirted in 2008-2009) and the thinking was he would transfer to Towson and be able to play right away for former Providence assistant coach Pat Skerry, who served under Keno Davis from 2008-2010.
Even with the transfers, PC looks to be on the way up. Cooley has a star-studded recruiting class of Kris Dunn (New London High School/New London, Conn.) and Ricardo Ledo (South Kent School/Providence, R.I.)
Earlier this week the Friars receieved good news, when two possible tranfers, Carson Desrosiers (Wake Forest) and Evan Smotrycz (Michigan) would both be on campus this weekend for an official visit.
