There was no surprise for his decision to transfer, given that his father and head coach, Ernie was fired after the season. Zeigler averaged 15.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this season for Central Michigan.
The 6-foot-5 Zegiler made a visit to Duke in March, but many expected him to transfer to whatever school would hire his father. However, he transferred to a school where his father served as an assistant coach (2001-2003) with current head coach Jamie Dixon.
Zeigler will have to sit out a season, but he will attempt to get a waiver.
The former Chippewa will join an incoming class of Steve Adams (Notre Dame Prep) and James Robinson (DeMatha Catholic).
